UKWMS Open House 2026 Highlights FKIP’s Educational Programs and Opportunities
Universitas Katolik Widya Mandala Surabaya held an Open House event on Sunday, 8 February 2026, at the UKWMS Pakuwon City Campus. The event brought together all faculties and study programs as part of the university’s effort to introduce its academic excellence to high school students and their parents. Open to the public, the event was attended by junior and senior high school students accompanied by their families, who had the opportunity to visit faculty booths, engage in direct discussions with lecturers and student representatives, as well as participate in workshop sessions conducted in two waves to provide deeper insight into the learning process within each study program. More than information sessions and workshops, the Open House was also enlivened by various supporting activities such as a photobooth, mini games, and door prizes, creating a lively and engaging atmosphere throughout the event.
In this event, the Faculty of Teacher Education actively participated by presenting three study programs: English Language Education, Physics Education, and Early Childhood Teacher Education. Through its faculty booth, visitors received comprehensive information about program strengths, curriculum design, and career prospects for graduates. In general, the three study programs prepare graduates for careers as educators at various educational levels, developers of learning media and instructional materials, researchers in education, education consultants, as well as managers or founders of formal and non-formal educational institutions. During the workshop session, the Physics Education Study Program represented FKIP by delivering an interactive presentation that demonstrated the application of physics concepts through creative and practical learning approaches. This participation reflects FKIP’s commitment to preparing competent educators who are responsive to the evolving needs of today’s educational landscape.
