On September 20, 1960, the Teaching and Education Faculty was established in Madiun. The establishment of this Faculty was confirmed by the Widya Mandala Foundation (YWM) with Decree No. 318/Sec/Yes/72. In line with the development of Higher Education in State Universities, and based on the Decree of the Minister of PTIP No. 159 of 1965, starting on August 7, 1965 the Widya Mandala Teaching and Education Faculty was made the Widya Mandala Teaching and Education Institute (IKIP). As a result, since this year YWM has managed 2 tertiary institutions, namely Widya Mandala University and Widya Mandala IKIP.
